At 7 they told you to stop. And to start sooner.
You remember asking her to stop running around. And also scolding her when she took too long. Today she swings between paralysis and impulse — without ever operating like she did at seven.
There's a reason adult MGs live swinging between stuck and out of control. They weren't born that way. They were corrected, still children, for two opposite reasons — and the system learned that any mode was a problem.
Your specific chart
, this post starts for whoever raised you. But it was written for you.
You were seven years old.
You were in the living room doing several things at once — building Lego, going to the kitchen for a snack, coming back, turning on the TV, leaving again. You didn't finish anything. But the body was in full operation — energy available, several ideas happening, attention jumping from one to another. That was you operating as you should.
Your mother came into the room.
Sometimes she said one thing: "Stop that. Stop running from one place to another. Sit and finish one thing before starting another."
Sometimes she said another: "Wait. You didn't even ask if you could. Why do you always do it first and tell me after?"
Sometimes both, at different moments of the same week.
You had no way to know that those sentences attacked two different motors. The first went against your Sacral — the energy center that responded uh-huh to several things at once, that opened the body to continuous movement. The second went against your Manifestor initiative — the capacity to start before asking permission, which is exactly how your type was built to operate.
For you, as a child, it was simple: everything I do is wrong. If I stop, I'm slow. If I start, I'm impulsive. If I follow the natural rhythm, someone yells.
And so you learned something specific and cruel: any mode of operating was a problem.
It wasn't you giving up. It was the system learning that there was no safe mode. That you had to stay alert, all the time, about which version of you would appear — and which corrective sentence would come in response.
Twenty years later, this is exactly how you operate.
You spend periods stuck. In paralysis. Waiting for a sacral response that never seems to arrive with the clarity you need. You blame yourself: why can't I start? I know what I have to do. But starting feels risky — a part of you knows that moving wrong will bring criticism.
And then, when the paralysis becomes unbearable, you attack. You start everything at once. You send three messages, open two projects, decide something big. For a few hours or a few days, the manifestor motor runs high. And you feel relief — I'm finally doing something.
But the thing started without the Sacral coming along. Without the body's response. It was impulse to escape the paralysis, not real direction. Within a few days the sacral motor doesn't sustain it. The project dies, the decision gets reversed, the messages go without your reply. And you collapse back into paralysis, now with more internal evidence that you can't keep anything going.
It's not lack of discipline. It's oscillation between two dysfunctional poles — because both motors learned that operating is dangerous.
Depending on which correction predominated in your childhood, you may have fixated on one of the two extremes instead of oscillating. Some people became "frustrated Generators" — they wait for the Sacral to respond, miss the manifestor window to act, live with the sense of opportunities seen and lost. Others became "desperate Manifestors" — they start project after project on impulse, without the sacral motor sustaining them, and each one dies halfway. But the origin is the same: one motor was corrected more than the other, and the system went out of calibration.
In your case your authority has its own channel that should confirm when the two motors are aligned. But the adult oscillation operates so fast that the channel doesn't have time to be consulted. You decide by the exhaustion of paralysis, not by the clarity of authority.
It's not that your mother was wrong. Both of her requests made cultural sense — don't run in the house is an adult caring, tell me before you do it is an adult teaching manners. She was probably corrected by the same sentences in childhood. The whole cultural model treats an active-and-initiating child as a child who needs a brake.
But the mechanical effect is that no one had the vocabulary to say "this child is an MG. She has two motors. Both need to work." Your mother corrected in what she knew how to correct — and what she knew was the model of a single-motor child.
Recovering isn't forcing one version of yourself. It's recognizing that both motors are yours — and that when they both run together, without internal suspicion, the result is exactly what you felt at seven: several things happening at once, body in motion, energy available. That's not being out of control. It's design.
The person who raised you and saw you "running around too much" or "doing things without asking" wasn't wrong to worry, in the world they were raised in. But today, with a different vocabulary, they can look at the same child and see: she's operating both motors. That's how she works.
And you, as an adult, can finally stop choosing between them.
You don't have to decide between stopping and starting. Both were yours — you were just taught that choosing one was the only safe option.
Now, the question that demands an answer
